Sleek marble tables elevate this bright minimalist living room

I transformed this living room from a warm, traditional space into a bright, modern retreat that feels calm, open, and effortlessly elegant.

The biggest shift came from updating the furniture and color story. I swapped the honey-toned wooden tables for sculptural, light gray concrete pedestals and replaced the round wood coffee table with a sleek rectangular one featuring a white marble top and slender black legs. This instantly gave the room a fresher, more contemporary feel while keeping it grounded.

The sofa was reupholstered in a soft, light gray fabric and dressed with simpler, tonal pillows, creating a cleaner look. I removed the extra side tables and instead anchored the seating area with two matching concrete cylinders that feel more architectural. On the back wall, I added a large piece of abstract geometric art, which brings subtle interest and draws the eye without overwhelming the space.

A few thoughtful details completed the update: a delicate glass vase with fresh greenery now sits on the coffee table, and the lamps were repositioned to create better balance and flow. The result is a room that still feels warm thanks to the rich wood floors and soft rug, but now has a lighter, more modern presence that feels current and inviting.
