Description

I took this once-bright but cluttered living space and gave it a complete personality makeover, turning it into a sophisticated, moody retreat with a strong art deco influence.

The biggest transformation came from the walls. Instead of the plain off-white, I wrapped the room in a rich navy blue with a delicate fan-patterned design that adds texture and depth without feeling heavy. The same bold color continues onto the floor, where I replaced the light carpet with a striking black-and-white checkered pattern that gives the room instant graphic energy.

Furniture was swapped for pieces with more presence and personality. The old gray sofa became a plush emerald-green velvet one, while two warm mustard-yellow armchairs were added for contrast. A sleek black coffee table with gold trim replaced the dark wooden one, and the TV now sits on a rich wood media console that feels much more tailored. I also introduced a round wooden dining table with stylish black-and-gold chairs near the window, turning that corner into an actual dining area instead of a catch-all workspace.

To tie everything together, I layered in curated details: a large gold round mirror, vintage-style Paris posters, dark blue curtains, and a few sculptural accessories. The result feels intentional, cozy, and quietly glamorous—like a stylish 1920s apartment that still invites you to sink into the sofa with a drink.
