I've transformed this living room from a simple, open space into a warm and inviting gathering spot that feels both polished and lived-in.
In the original setup, the large, expansive rug and round coffee table created a very open, almost floating arrangement that left the room feeling a bit sparse. While the neutral palette was lovely, it lacked personality and visual weight.
To bring the space together, I replaced the oversized rug with a more appropriately scaled one that neatly anchors the seating area. I swapped the round coffee table for a substantial rectangular one with a lower shelf, which not only adds storage but also creates a stronger focal point.
The biggest changes came through thoughtful layering: I introduced a tall fiddle-leaf fig tree to bring life and natural texture into the corner, and added a large leaning mirror on the right wall to reflect light and make the room feel even more spacious. Finally, I styled the coffee table with a few carefully chosen books and a simple bowl, giving the space that collected, welcoming feel it was missing.
The result is a room that feels balanced, intentional, and ready to be enjoyed.
