Elegant Art Deco Living Room With Velvet Sofa

I took this once-plain, almost forgotten corner of a room and gave it a gentle but complete transformation.

Where there used to be just a bed shoved against the wall and a lonely bookshelf, I created a calm, inviting lounge. The bed was replaced by a deep green velvet sofa that brings warmth and richness to the space. Above it, a bold gold-framed mirror reflects light and adds a sense of depth, while a sculptural wall sconce and tall floor lamp together cast a soft, layered glow that makes the room feel welcoming at any hour.

A striking sunburst rug now anchors the seating area, its clean lines and warm tones playing beautifully against the cool gray floor. I added a slender side table holding a dramatic vase filled with dried grasses and feathers, giving the corner a touch of organic movement and personality. The result is a space that feels considered, cozy, and quietly stylish—somewhere you’d actually want to linger.
