This Charcoal Living Room Glows With Cyberpunk Neon

I took this bright, everyday living room and completely reimagined it as a moody, immersive sanctuary for evenings and late nights.

The transformation started with the walls. I shifted them from a soft off-white to a deep charcoal gray, which instantly made the room feel more intimate and dramatic. Then I layered in custom neon LED strips that trace the architecture—outlining the window, running along the ceiling, and wrapping around the TV console. This created a glowing cyberpunk frame that brings the space to life after dark.

I leaned into the tech and gaming vibe already present in the room. The desk now features a glowing monitor setup, while the coffee table gained a striking purple orb lamp as its centerpiece. Even the little details were considered: the pillow on the sofa was swapped for one with a subtle circuit-board pattern, and the lighting was carefully balanced so the neon feels vibrant but not harsh.

The result is a room that feels like it exists in two worlds. During the day it’s still functional, but once the sun sets and the neon comes on, it transforms into a cozy, cinematic space—perfect for gaming, relaxing, or simply getting lost in the glow.
