I took this bright, open living room and gave it a fresh, inviting personality while keeping its calm, airy spirit intact.
Starting with the before: the space felt very neutral and a bit flat, with a soft beige sofa, matching curtains, and a simple round coffee table. It was pleasant, but it lacked warmth and character.
In the after, I brought in a rich teal sofa as the new focal point, instantly adding depth and personality. I layered in golden yellow and soft patterned pillows for a cheerful, welcoming touch. The new striped rug in warm neutrals and gentle blues ties everything together and grounds the seating area beautifully.
To balance the color, I swapped the curtains for a soft greige tone and introduced a sleek wooden console on the right, topped with a round mirror that reflects light and makes the room feel even more spacious. I also added a graceful floor lamp, a few sculptural pieces, and a lush potted plant to bring life and texture into the corners.
The result is a room that still feels calm and light-filled, but now has warmth, personality, and a modern, collected feel that makes you want to sit down and stay awhile.
