Description

I took this once-quiet, neutral living room and gave it warmth, personality, and a gentle sense of story.

Before, the space felt calm but a little flat—beige walls, a simple sofa with soft green pillows, and a very traditional, almost expected layout. The lighting was basic, the surfaces were plain, and while everything was perfectly fine, it lacked any real sense of life or character.

In the redesign, I kept the beautiful bones—the light walls, the rich wood floors, and the generous windows—but layered in texture, color, and thoughtful details. A large woven pendant now hangs like a warm, glowing basket from the ceiling, instantly making the room feel more intimate. I swapped the plain side tables for more interesting pieces, added sculptural wall sconces and a tall arched mirror on the left, and brought in a generous potted tree that softens the right side and adds life.

The sofa got a fresh mix of deep blue and coral pillows for a quiet pop of color, while the new whitewashed coffee table feels lighter and more relaxed. A larger, patterned rug grounds everything, and the oversized decorative mirror above the sofa reflects light and adds depth.

The result is a room that still feels airy and serene, but now has heart—inviting, collected, and quietly sophisticated.
