A Plush Green Velvet Sofa Anchors This Living Room

I took this bright but rather plain and empty-feeling room and gave it soul, warmth, and a sense of history.

Instead of the simple neutral backdrop, I layered in rich color and texture, starting with a deep, jewel-toned Persian-style rug that grounds the entire space. The crisp white sofa was replaced with a inviting green velvet one, and I added a graceful, vintage-inspired chaise on the right to create a more collected, lived-in atmosphere.

I brought in character through layers of detail: an antique carved chest, a collection of framed artwork and mirrors on the walls, and warm wooden accents like the globe tables and ornate lamps. Lush palm plants and a large, overflowing floral arrangement on the coffee table add life and softness, while the patterned curtains frame the windows with a touch of old-world charm.
