Description

I transformed this once-casual living room into a cozy, enchanted retreat with a celestial twist.

The biggest shift came from painting the back wall a deep midnight blue and dressing the windows in matching heavy curtains. This instantly gave the space a richer, more intimate mood while making the view outside feel like a framed painting. I swapped the gray sofa for one upholstered in a lush green floral fabric and added deep burgundy and constellation-print pillows, turning it into a jewel-toned centerpiece.

The chunky rectangular coffee table was replaced with a round, pedestal-style wooden one that feels more inviting and sculptural. On top, I layered old books, a brass globe, a glowing amethyst-style lamp, and a quill pen to create a whimsical, storybook atmosphere. A large navy-and-gold patterned rug anchors the seating area, while new butterfly wall sconces and a glowing orb floor lamp add soft, magical lighting.

The desk now holds an oversized vintage map, and a framed celestial chart hangs on the wall, reinforcing the astronomy theme. Throughout the room, I kept the beloved “Good Things Take Time” poster and Tokyo flower market print but gave them a more thoughtful arrangement alongside trailing plants and natural textures.

The result is a space that feels both lived-in and magical—like a place where you could spend hours reading, stargazing, or simply dreaming.
