I took this narrow, dim hallway and turned it into a warm, welcoming space that feels twice as bright and twice as inviting.
Before, the dark floor and heavy shadows made the corridor feel like a tunnel. A small, cluttered cabinet sat awkwardly against the wall, its surface covered with random items, while a single lamp struggled to push back the gloom. The tall white wardrobe stood alone, and the space lacked any sense of welcome or purpose.
I began by replacing the dark flooring with a light, natural wood that instantly lifted the entire hallway and made it feel much wider. Then I swapped the old cabinet for a clean white chest of drawers paired with a simple wooden bench dressed in a soft sheepskin throw—creating both storage and a place to sit while putting on shoes. A slender birch coat rack now stands gracefully near the door, ready to hold jackets and bags without taking up floor space.
To bring the space to life, I added a striped woven rug that leads the eye toward the front door and softens the walk. The same round mirrors remained, but now they beautifully reflect the gentle glow of a small lamp and a flickering candle, making the hallway feel calm and cared for. Every surface is now uncluttered, every element chosen to make the space feel lighter, warmer, and quietly elegant.
