Description

I took a bright but rather bare living room and turned it into a calm, welcoming space that feels like a quiet garden indoors.

Before, the room had clean lines and plenty of light, yet it felt a little empty—the large rug and sofa sat in the middle of the space with nothing to soften the edges or bring the room to life.

To change that, I anchored the right-hand wall with a simple white fireplace mantel, giving the room a natural focal point and extra warmth. Above the sofa, a round woven mirror now reflects light back into the space, while a delicate hanging plant softens the wall beside it.

On the left, I added two small botanical prints and a tall fiddle-leaf fig in a terracotta pot, creating a gentle vertical line that draws the eye upward. Then I layered in more greenery everywhere—trailing plants on the mantel, small potted companions on the side tables, and lush arrangements in glass vessels on the coffee table. The result is a room that still feels open and airy, but now feels cared for, balanced, and alive.
