I took this bright, open living room and gave it a fresh, more inviting personality while keeping its calm, airy feel.
The biggest change was swapping the creamy white sofa for a soft gray one. It adds just the right amount of depth and makes the room feel a little cozier without losing any of its light. I replaced the smooth round coffee table with a rustic wooden one that has a natural, live-edge top and slender black legs—it brings in some warmth and texture that plays nicely against the dark wood floors.
To make the space feel more lived-in and welcoming, I added layers of greenery. A tall potted plant now stands gracefully by the window on the right, and a smaller one sits near the sofa on the left, bringing life and softness to the corners.
On the walls, I introduced two simple but striking pieces: a black-and-white mountain print above the left side table and a round wooden mirror on the right. These additions give the room character and help the eye travel around the space. I also refreshed the pillows with a mix of soft textures and kept the overall palette neutral, so the room still feels peaceful but now has more personality and warmth.
The result is the same beautiful, light-filled room, just with more soul and a touch of modern rustic charm.
