Flowing white curtains soften this coastal living room

I took this bright, open living space and gave it a gentle but thoughtful refresh—keeping its calm, airy spirit while adding layers of warmth, balance, and personality.

In the original room, everything felt neatly centered: the sofa sat squarely between two matching side tables, the round coffee table rested on a simple rug, and the space had a clean but slightly unfinished feel, especially along the right wall. The French doors stood bare, and the room lacked any real focal point on the side.

To bring the space to life, I introduced a few key pieces that create a sense of welcome and purpose. A tall, graceful palm in a woven basket now softens the corner beside the sofa, bringing a touch of nature indoors. On the right wall, I placed a long, natural-wood console that feels both substantial and airy. Above it hangs a large, round woven mirror that reflects light and adds beautiful texture, while two sculptural lamps and a few pieces of driftwood complete the arrangement. Finally, I dressed the French doors with flowing white curtains, softening the transition between inside and out and making the room feel more intimate without losing its openness.

The result is a space that still feels light and uncluttered, but now has a quiet sense of completeness—like it’s ready to be lived in and enjoyed.
