Description

I took this once-cluttered, tired-looking living room and gave it a fresh, modern personality while keeping it warm and inviting.

The biggest change came from the walls. I painted the main walls a soft, calming teal-green and covered the TV wall in a playful geometric wallpaper in warm terracotta and cream. This instantly made the space feel brighter and more intentional.

The heavy wooden furniture was swapped for lighter, more sculptural pieces. A sleek white TV console with glowing blue LED lighting replaced the old wooden unit, while a tall chrome and glass shelving unit now displays the owner’s favorite objects instead of hiding them in plastic drawers. The bulky wooden coffee table and desk disappeared, making room for a cozy conversation area with two sculptural swivel chairs and a small round table that catches the light beautifully.

The old gray sofa was re-covered in a rich emerald velvet and styled with patterned pillows, instantly making it the heart of the room. I added an oversized arched floor lamp that curves gracefully over the seating area and brought in an oversized burnt-orange ottoman for both color and extra seating.

The result feels calm yet lively — a space that finally matches the beautiful view outside the window. Everything has its place, the colors are cheerful without being overwhelming, and the room now feels like a place you’d actually want to spend time in.
