I took this bright, open living room and gave it a fresh, layered update that feels both cozy and current.

The biggest shift came from swapping the soft beige sofa for a deeper gray one, which instantly grounds the space and adds a touch of modern calm. I replaced the traditional round coffee table with a striking live-edge wood piece on slim black legs—it brings in natural texture and a more organic, sculptural feel.

To balance the new sofa, I introduced a few key accents: a tall, leafy plant on the right to soften the corner, a round wooden mirror that reflects light and adds subtle warmth, and a bold black-and-white mountain print on the left wall that draws the eye and gives the room personality.

Small touches like patterned pillows, a couple of flickering candles, and a delicate plant on the side table complete the look, making the space feel thoughtfully collected rather than staged. The result is still light and airy, but now it has more depth, warmth, and a quiet sense of style.
