A classic floral sofa defines this Southern living room.

I took this once-simple, airy living room and gave it a warm, collected soul. Where there was once a crisp, modern calm, I layered in timeless character and quiet elegance.

The plain sofa was replaced with a beautifully patterned floral one that brings softness and a sense of history to the space. Above it, I hung a grand, gold-framed mirror that not only reflects the light beautifully but also adds a touch of old-world charm. On the right, a stately grandfather clock now stands as a quiet centerpiece, grounding the room with its classic presence.

I swapped the minimalist coffee table for a richer, traditional wooden one and styled it with books, a blue-and-white vase of flowers, and lush greenery. The side tables were refreshed with new lamps, and I added potted plants to bring life into the corners. Finally, I dressed the French doors with heavier, tied-back curtains that feel more substantial and inviting, while a few carefully chosen paintings complete the walls.

The result is a room that still feels bright and open, but now tells a story—one that feels lived-in, welcoming, and full of quiet personality.
